Brand New Challenge ~ Summer Blooms

Hi Everyone,

Welcome to a brand new Challenge ....  well it's been ages since we had a challenge here in the Craftroom but here it is, so I really hope you can all join in!

'Summer Blooms'

We would love to see your creations for this challenge which will run until April 30th

I can just about feel that Summer is here and we have had very tiny smatterings of sun here in Torquay!  Flowers always come to mind in spring when the daffodils start to come out ... usually the first blooms we see after winter.

So I'd love to see any cards with Summer blooms in mind :)

We have been making our cards using the brand new paper collection in the Store 'Summer Blooms' and it's available to buy now.  It is quite an arty collection of papers featuring big flowers, roses and accessory papers including shabby large polka dots and solid colours.  The palette of colours is really fresh and summery and I think you will love it.

Can't wait to see what you come up with for this challenge and of course, one winner at the end of the challenge will be selected and will receive 1 paper collection from the Cupcakes Store.

October Challenge - { Anything Goes - in Autumn }

New Challenge Here!

Hello everyone!  

It's time to launch our new challenge for the month of October.   I can't believe how fast the year is going.  You can't help but feel and see the summer is over and that fall is here, leaves are falling, the weather is colder, windier and the nights are drawing in!  So for this month we are having an 'anything goes' challenge with the focus on Autumn.  

These are some of the ideas we had that make me feel Autumny!

Pumpkins and Harvest Festival

September Challenge - Pretty Pastels!

Hello everyone!  It's Mary J here and I hope you are all having a fabulous weekend.  It's getting colder here in the UK now :( so autumn is starting to kick in but we thought we'd end the summer with a fresh feel!  So this month the challenge is to create a card or project using pretty pastels!  

But before we go onto that, we want to thank all the creative players we had last month.  How Mandy is going to select one winner will be a feat!  She will be back soon with the announcements so tune in again.

Back to the challenge!  To get your creative juices going again, this month the DT are using the new Pretty Pastels Collection Papers.  This has a total of 24 printable papers with a mixture of gorgeous patterns and coordinating solids in, of course, pretty pastels!

August Challenge ~ Fresh & Summery {Lilac & Lime}

Greetings Everyone

We have a new challenge this month - Fresh & Summery. Mandy has created some gorgeous papers called  Lilac & Lime Spring Collection Papers. The collection features beautiful lilac, greens, and yellows. There are a total of 20 printable papers in total.  The DT have used this collection in their DT cards this month, hope you enjoy those :)

The challenge is to create a card or project that reflects the freshness and highlights of summer and if you would like to use our colour combination of lilac and lime then feel free, although you can use any colours you like :)

July Challenge ~ LAYERS

Hi Everyone

We hope that you have enjoyed all the DT inspiration in June. We're back with a July Challenge.

That challenge in to use layers - lots of layers in your cards. Layers can be matting and layering, piling it on, adding elements and image toppers, building up different papers, layers of a border, decoupage, the list is endless.

We have some beautiful papers to introduce this month called 'Flourish'. It has a 10 colourway pallette of very pretty colors. The paper also features beautiful damask, polka dots and sweet birds.

May Challenge ~ Photo Inspiration

WOW can you believe that it's May already!! For this month's challenge the Design Team has decided to challenge you with a photo inspiration. Isn't this the greatest photo you've seen, these cookies look so delicious. Your card can use the colors, fruit, summer, the sky's the limit with this gorgeous photo.

April 2012 Challenge

April showers bring May flowers - or so the poem goes!! April is a special month with spring in the air and flowers popping up everywhere, it's lovely to see more birds in the garden, bees and things buzzing and crawling creations roaming around. Thus our new challenge is:

Bugs n Birds n Wings n Things

We'd like to see creations with a spring feel featuring basically anything that has wings.

Recently, Mandy has introduced a new line of colour collection papers (four so far),  and is working on adding more. Today, the team will be working with one of the new sets titled Dragonflies.   It's a line of 36 beautiful colours of the same design with solid colour papers to coordinate and one design in white which can be printed onto colour paper for a different look. Dragonflies also has a fine distressed finish to it. 

The prize this month will be your choice of one Cupcake Cards & Crafts paper collection of your choice from the store. The winner will be announced the first week in April.
